Missoula Villages
Neighbors Helping Neighbors
Missoula Villages is a citizen-driven, grassroots network built to help neighbors care for neighbors. The Village network connects Missoulians to each other through a volunteer exchange, with additional services available through partnerships with the city and local organizations. "The Village" also promotes active, social living by coordinating recreational, educational, and cultural events. We hope Missoulians in every neighborhood will join the network to give back and get help, neighbor to neighbor.
Missoula Villages uses a separate website to manage membership, communicate about operations, and to schedule requests and volunteer availability. Please click the link below to learn more and sign up. You can also learn more at upcoming events. Scroll down to see what's coming up and join us!

Upcoming Events
Throughout the winter and spring, Missoula Villages invites to the public to learn more at a series of fun, free events. Meet founding volunteers, MAS staff, and community partners to ask, come together with neighbors, and get a feel for Village activities!
Missoula Villages + Open AIR Printmaking Workshop w/Bev Beck Glueckert
Missoula Villages + Open AIR Workshop with Bev Beck Glueckert
Printmaking: Exploring the Collagraph
We've partnered with Open AIR to offer a free workshop as a part of our rolling series of Missoula Villages launch events. Come make art then stay to enjoy refreshments and chat with Village founding volunteers and MAS staff about how the new neighbor-powered network can help older Missoulians age well at home.
About the workshop:
Learn to create and print a fun collagraph plate using simple and recycled textural collage materials. Plenty of experimentation is involved, and encouraged. Participants can create an edition of prints, or variety of singles. There are endless possibilities!
All materials and supplies are included. Attendees are welcome to come with their own designs and ideas but no preparation is necessary. The workshop is free, but a suggested donation for Open AIR is appreciated!
Registration is required and will close 24 hours before the workshop begins.
Cancellation: If you are registered and cannot attend the workshop, please let us know at susie@openairmt.org so we can open the spot for another participant!
About the Artist:
Bev is an Open AIR residency alum! She is a 4th-generation Montanan, who lives and works in Missoula. She's been working as an art instructor and workshop facilitator for adults and children for over 35 years and is a studio artist whose work has been widely exhibited throughout Montana and the wider region. Bev served as adjunct faculty in drawing and printmaking at University of Montana and at the former University of Great Falls. She is a co-founder/ member of the SALTMINE Artists group in Missoula. She earned a BA in Art from University of Idaho and her MFA in printmaking from UM.
Missoula Villages Tai Chi & Tea
In addition to swapping practical help and volunteer opportunities, the Missoula Villages network will offer many opportunities for older neighbors to get out and get together, including classes and outings where you can share a favorite activity with others or try something new. Join us downtown at Sacred Ally for an all-levels Tai Chi class led by Parks & Rec., followed by a gathering with Village founders and MAS staff for tea and informal conversation. We can explain how membership works, get you signed up if you're ready to jump in, and brainstorm ideas for how the Village will grow and evolve! Sacred Ally has generously donated use of their peaceful, light-filled space. Can't make Tai Chi at 11? Stop by for tea at noon. Space is limited. Call Corey Bressler to sign up: (406) 728-7682
