New to Medicare: A Virtual Workshop

Wednesday, May 12, 2021
6:00 pm7:30 pm

The Virtual New to Medicare Workshop through Missoula Aging Services is a 90-minute session where people learn how to make the most of their Medicare options. It's important to get local information because Medicare options vary by state, and even by county. The workshop agenda includes:

-Important enrollment dates
-Limited guaranteed issue rights
-How to save money on prescription drugs
-How to prevent late enrollment penalties
-Options to help pay for Medicare costs for people with a limited income
-Choosing between Medicare A & B and a Part D Prescription Drug Plan, a Medicare Supplement, or a Medicare Advantage Plan

Participate online using Zoom. Space is limited. Pre-registration is required and is first-come, first-served. An email confirmation with the Zoom meeting ID, password, and instructions will be sent to registered participants several days prior to the session date. After completion of the workshop, relevant Medicare publications will be provided. An opportunity to participate in a no-cost phone appointment with a MAS Resource Specialist to further discuss benefit options will also be offered after the workshop.

MAS is the local State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) that the community can count on for information that is unbiased. The workshop is presented by Kathy Kimmet and Megan Fournier, Resource Specialists at MAS and trained SHIP Counselors.

The workshop will not cover SSDI nor will it answer questions about taxes. If you are on SSDI and starting Medicare, call Missoula Aging Services for a no-cost New to Medicare phone appointment.
