Dementia Resources for Caregivers

Caring for a loved one with dementia is an important and demanding responsibility. It is becoming more common in Montana. We’re here to help.

There are many resources available in the Missoula area, including support groups, classes, and Dementia Friendly Missoula, a volunteer coalition working to make Missoula a more supportive community for people living with dementia.

  • Also from Washington State DSHS, this kit provides a wide range of tools for promoting the safety of people living with dementia.

  • This guide from the AARP provides a framework for care planning and is a good supplement to dementia specific resources.

  • If you know someone with Alzheimer’s and a young child who would benefit from gaining an understanding of their loved one's dementia-related behaviors, you may be eligible to receive one FREE storybook from the Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness for Children Storybook Program through the MSU Extension Office.
