Missoula Aging Services announced today that it will be hosting weekly Medication Review appointments in partnership with the University of Montana Skaggs School of Pharmacy.

The hour-long appointments will be with both a UM Pharmacy student and a supervising licensed pharmacist and will be available Wednesday and Thursday afternoons beginning Wednesday, June 29nd through Wednesday, August 31st. The appointments will be held at the Missoula Aging Services office located at 337 Stephens Avenue.

Kate Cotnoir, Missoula Aging Services Resource Program Manager, shared her thoughts about the service, “We’re excited to be able to work with the UM School of Pharmacy again this year so clients can receive an unbiased review of their medications. This will allow clients to make sure their medications are right for both their health and financial needs. The pharmacists will be able to answer any questions about the medications, as well as offer special training on how to optimize the use of an inhaler for those who use one.”

“This program has been incredibly helpful to our clients in the past, and I’m glad we are able to offer this partnership again,” Cotnoir continued. “Clients need to bring all medications, whether they are prescription, over-the-counter, or supplements, in a Ziplock bag, or a detailed list of all medications, over-the-counter’s and supplements they take. We also ask they bring all Medicare and other insurance cards, as well as a list of any questions they have regarding their medications.”
