Reserve your spot in this 7 week virtual program today!

Stepping On is an evidence-based falls prevention program for adults age 60 years and over that live in Montana. In a 7-week period, participants will learn exercises and strategies to build self-confidence, change behaviors and improve decision-making for safe, independent living. The class will help participants identify why they fall and different ways to prevent falls.

Stepping On covers strength and balance exercises, home safety suggestions, the role vision plays in keeping balance, medication reviews, and other related topics. Falling is not an inevitable part of aging! Making practical lifestyle adjustments and attending Stepping On can reduce the risk.

The class is for anyone who:
-Is age 60 years or over and lives in Montana
-Has had a fall in the past year or is fearful of falling
-Does not have Alzheimer’s or Other Related Dementia
-Is living independently in a home or apartment
-Walks independently in the home (may use a cane)
-Does not rely solely on a walker or wheelchair (may use a walker for outside mobility)

Classes meet on seven Tuesdays, June 1 through July 13 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM, MDT. Participate online using Zoom. Space is limited. Pre-registration is required. An email confirmation with the Zoom meeting ID, password, and instructions will be sent to registered participants several days prior to the class starting date. Class materials are mailed to participants.
