Walk with Ease Program

Begins August 31st
Walking Older Adults

The program is based on the Arthritis Foundation’s national Walk With Ease Program. You’ll receive the Walk With Ease Participant Guidebook as a NeighborWalk participant. The guidebook and our weekly video chats provide useful information and tips about developing an individual walking plan.
Participants are encouraged to incorporate independent, self-paced walks 3-times a week. It doesn’t matter how far you walk. If you’re a beginner, you’ll start your walks for as long as you’re personally comfortable and build up to 30 minutes a day, 3-times each week by the end of the program. If you’re more fit when we begin, the sky’s the limit. Whatever your schedule and stamina will support.
The weekly video chat is led by AARP volunteers each Tuesday at 2 PM, Montana time. It will meet on six Tuesdays, August 31 to October 5. Participants will walk independently and meet up on Tuesdays to discuss their progress. Participants will also receive useful info from the Arthritis Foundation, share their experiences with others, and connect socially. This program offers social distancing, social engagement….and a whole lot of fun.
